We are a church for people at all stages of their faith journey and of any age, especially those exploring faith for the first time.
We’d love to welcome you — whether you’re taking your first steps in faith or have been part of a church family for years, there’s a place for you at Windrush Church.
About Us
Windrush Church is a new fresh expression of church established by the Baptist Union and Church of England, serving the growing communities of Windrush Place and Colwell Green, and the wider area of Curbridge and West Witney.
Windrush Church is led by Revd Jacky Bone and local volunteers.
Our activities include a weekly tots’ group at Windrush School, an allotment project, and community events such as Christmas fun days, a summer play project, and the popular Teddy Bears’ Picnic. We also link closely with Windrush Church of England Primary School, taking Godly Play sessions and fortnightly collective worship.
What We Offer
- Messy Church: a monthly service for younger children and their adults, full of creativity, celebration and hospitality.
- Breakfast Church: a café-style service welcoming everyone of any age, including breakfast, contemporary and traditional music, videos, crafts and more.
- Windrush Choir: a popular community choir with around 30 members of all ages — no auditions or ability to read music needed. We sing popular music from across the decades and organise plenty of social events too. We meet [day] evenings, [time].
- Exploring Faith Courses & Small Groups: short courses for those wishing to explore faith, based around the Alpha course. We are also beginning to develop small groups to study the Bible together.
- Tots’ Group: a weekly group for young children and their adults, meeting Wednesdays in term time, 10:15–11:30am, in the Community Room at Windrush C of E Primary School.
Services
- Breakfast Church: [time TBA], café-style, for all ages.
- Messy Church: first Sunday of the month, 10:15am, at Windrush C of E Primary School. Includes a light breakfast.
Parking
Parking is available in the school car park and on the adjoining roads.
Accessibility Access
Windrush Church is fully accessible.
As we meet in a working school, we cannot welcome visitors outside the services and groups listed above. You are very welcome to join us at any of these.
