St Mary the Virgin, Witney stands at the end of Church Green and is the main Anglican and civic church for the town.
We aspire to be an inclusive, welcoming community of mercy and kindness. We extend a warm invitation to everyone to come and join us irrespective of race, sexuality, background or age.
About Us
St Mary’s has been a place of prayer and hospitality for more than 750 years. Our magnificent medieval building is also the civic church for Witney.
Worship is at the heart of our life together. We treasure the Eucharist and the daily rhythm of prayer.
We are a warm and welcoming community, offering hospitality through our Ministry of Festivals and other events. We are a member of the Inclusive Church Network.
Care for creation is also important to us. We have achieved an A Rocha Silver Award and are working towards Gold.

Services
- Sunday Service: 10:45 am, Sung Eucharist with choir and organ, followed by coffee and conversation. The service usually lasts about 1 hour 15 minutes. Children can attend Junior Church, which runs alongside the service. A specially prepared liturgy is used each Sunday.
- Wednesday Service: 11:00, spoken Eucharist, followed by tea and coffee.
- Daily Office: Morning Prayer 09:00 (except Saturday and Sunday); Evening Prayer 17:30 (except Saturday).

There is time-limited parking outside St Mary’s and by Henry Box School. Or please park on The Leys.
